Purple Ticket Wonders started as a lifelong dream.

 

I am a mostly a self-taught sewist/artist/crafter.  I cannot just stick to one media and have had my hands on many different types. At a young age I was told what an artist and how creative I was by family, friends, teachers and many others. This caused me to take as many art classes as possible in high school and college. From pottery and sculpture, drawing, hand and power tools, to 2D and 3D design I’m not afraid to try a new skill. While most of my sewing is self-taught I have had a few commissioned jobs creating costumes, home décor items, and basic altering and hemming. Sewing is one of my favorites because I have made several things for my children and am currently teaching my daughter to sew. I was able to volunteer teaching art classes at one of the schools my children attended and loved seeing all the amazing masterpieces the children created. My children have a love of art and being creative as well, and it motivates me to do so much more. In fact, the name Purple Ticket Wonders came from my children’s names who happened to be named after storybook characters.

 

For years having a shop of my own has been a dream with constant reminders from family and friends to open one. Now that my three children are in school, I have more time to focus on myself, my craft, and my business.
